Voters in Hoopeston said 'No' to a proposal to raise the sales tax. That was just one of the many issues had choices for on the ballot in Vermilion County Tuesday. Final, un-official numbers show 463 voting against the tax hike and 330 in favor.

Hoopeston voters selected Chad Yaden to serve on the city council in Ward 1. Alex Houmes in Ward 2 and Brandon Hamilton in Ward 4.

Voters in Danville kept Scott Eisenhauer as Mayor. He was an easy winner for re-election defeating former County Board Chairman James McMahon.

Eisenhauer earned 63% of the vote to 37% for McMahon, who continues to serve on the County Board.
