Vermilion County officials are moving closer to a decision on what company will take over operations of the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home.
Assistant State's Attorney Bill Donahue says two companies are being considered. Both have been interviewed about their vision of future operations of the nursing home.
Donahue identifies the companies. One is IMG, the IDE Management Group, headquartered in Greenfield, Indiana. The other is FNR Healthcare Group, headquartered in Skokie, Illinois. FNR would partner with Premier Healthcare Management to operate Vermilion Manor.
Premier Healthcare operates nursing homes in Gilman, Savoy and other locations. IMG operates nursing homes in Danville and Paris. Staff members from Vermilion Manor have visited those facilities as part of the selection process on making a final recommendation to the Vermilion County Board. The final decision on which company might purchase the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home rests with the County Board.
Donahue says a special meeting of the Nursing Home Committee of the County Board will be held in the near future. The county had earlier received bids from five companies that expressed an interest in purchasing the nursing home. The list has since been narrowed to the two finalists.
