Veterans’ Day observances for area communities….

Watseka American Legion Post #23 is hosting a Veterans Day event Monday, November 11th. The public is invited to the 11 am observance at the Legion Park home.

Desert Storm Veteran Alex O'Brien is the featured speaker.

The Hoopeston American Legion and VFW will conduct an annual Veterans Day Program Monday. It's at the Hoopeston Area Middle School Gymnasium. The public is invited to the 9:30 am observance.

The Hoopeston Area High School Band and Chorus will provide entertainment.,

Two announced events in Ford County are at Gibson City and Paxton.

The Gibson City-Melvin Sibley school district welcomes the public to Monday's observance at the GCMS High School at 9 am. Local veterans will be featured in a slide-show.

Veterans Day at Paxton includes two programs. The Paxton-Buckley-Loda school district and the PBL High School Band will host the two events at the high school gym. An 8:30 am program will focus on young children followed by a community-wide program at 9:30 am, which includes a color guard made up of veterans from the Paxton and Loda American Legion posts.

A Veterans Day Program at the South Newton school campus invites public participation to honor area veterans. It's at 9 am Monday in the school gym. Students K-12 will be part of the program.
