Reports of voter fraud has triggered an investigation in Kankakee County. The State’s Attorney’s Office issued a press conference (Tuesday) stating alleged vote buying may be compromising the local election process.
Reports indicated Chicago political powers were offering gifts to potential voters in exchange for votes in favor of State Rep Kate Cloonen, Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats.
Applications for ‘Vote by Mail’ ballots are also the subject of the investigation.
Meanwhile -- Democratic leaders in Kankakee County have also issued a press release notifying the State Board of Elections and the Department of Justice claiming legally-registered voters in Kankakee County have been turned away from polling places. Voters denied claim they’ve been harassed and intimidated by local government officials.
