Voter turnout down in Central Illinois

Iroquois County:  not so bad ...

Election officials are reporting voter turnout Tuesday was down in many area counties. Numbers posted show turnout resulted in some record-low figures.

Woodford County was just one county where an increase in number of voters surfaced from 2020: 6,847 to 6,109.

Iroquois County had a 24% turnout.  Kankakee County was just 17%.  And Vermilion County had a dismal 2.8% turnout at the polls.

Some counties with contested-races attracted more involvement.
