Illiana temperatures are expected to reach 78-80 to close out the work week today (Friday).  Then there's a chance of a very wet weekend, with showers and thunderstorms and maybe serious winds, hail and possibly tornadoes. 

The NWS calls for winds at 25 mph, some gusts could hit 45 mph. Showers and T-storms are listed at 70% Saturday thru Sunday night. 

Millions of people from the Mississippi and Ohio valleys into the Southeast might experience severe weather.  A storm system could lead to high winds, hailand tornadoes. The greatest risk to the region is Sunday. 

Although these chances for showers and storms could be somewhat impactful to some of us with our daily events, the rain is needed now to prevent further damage from the drought that has developed locally in many area counties. A good 1.00 – 2.50″ of rain across the area would be welcome, and that’s what the forecast shows over the next 7 days.
