Community leaders are urged to make warming centers available for those people who might need relief from the extreme cold temperatures this weekend. Iroquois, Ford, Livingston, Vermilion, & Champaign County officials remind the public that buildings are available for those who might need relief from the cold. Health officials & the Emergency Management Agency offices have posted facilities ready to help. Those in need should call first before heading to any warming facility, just to be sure they are open & able to assist. EMA websites have warming center location listings. Public government buildings, schools, churches, & retail outlets are usual gathering places where residents can escape from the cold.
