The Route 24 railroad crossing at the Toledo, Peoria & Western crossing west of Watseka is closed beginning today (Monday 8/3). The crossing is being upgraded by T.P.&W. crews for the next days. A detour has been posted.

U.S. Route 24westbound traffic will be detoured north on Illinois Route1 to Route 52; then west on Route 52 to Illinois Route 49. Traffic then heads south on 49 back to Route 24 at Crescent City.

U.S. Route 24 eastbound traffic is directed north on Route 49 to Route 52; then east on 52 to Route 1 (south of Martinton) and back south on Route 1 to Route 24 at the west junction of Watseka.

Non-local travelers are reminded that the Route 1 bridge, north and south thru Watseka, is limited to a single-lane for a bridge replacement project.
