Watseka-native Nick Lynch is among the favorites back for the Watseka FireFest celebration this weekend.

The two-day event at Riverside parking lot along Route 24 E is Friday and Saturday. It’s become an annual homecoming, of sorts, the Watseka Area Firefighters Association puts the program together. Proceeds benefit the organization’s need for equipment and supplies.

Summer safety and educational fire safety programs for children will be featured. Several kids activities make it a family-fun event. And entertainment includes ‘live’ bands on stage.

Nick Lynch is on stage at 9 pm Friday.

Mind Enigma is on stage at 6 pm Saturday. The Strips perform at 9 pm. Food vendors are on site too. And the Watseka Elks Lodge # 1791 sponsors Kids Day Saturday.
