The Watseka community and firefighting family is mourning the loss of one their own. Firefighter and paramedic Mike Memenga passed away Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack while at home. He was just 32-years-old. He leaves behind his wife, Robyn and daughter Emma.

Mr. Memenga was also a paramedic with Riverside Ambulance. Prior to that, he worked for IMH Ambulance. He just recently completed his paramedic schooling, and was active in the fire academy.

The Baier Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Visitation is Friday, October 4 from 4-7 pm. A funeral service follows on Saturday, October 5 at 11 am at the Baier Funeral home.
