A Sunday night crash south of Watseka left a rural Watseka man dead. 72-year-old Mike Miner was the lone occupant in a pickup truck that left the road and crashed into a house. It happened in Belmont Township along County Road 2000 E.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s police and Coroner Bill Cheatum are investigating. The driver was dead at the scene.  Police report a 9-1-1 call shortly after 10 pm had a homeowner report a vehicle had driven into the rear of the house north of Belmont Acres. Emergency responders found the driver deceased.

The Woodland Fire Department, Riverside EMS and Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
