A three-vehicle head on collision last week in Iroquois County has claimed the life of an 82-year-old Watseka man.

Howard Kissack died at Carle Hospital in Urbana Friday night. He was air-lifted to the Champaign County hospital following the crash last Wednesday afternoon. Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup issued the press release on Kissack’s death.

Illinois State Police at District 21. Investigated the accident on U.S. Route 24 near the Indiana state line.

The accident happened just after 4 pm Wednesday, near Effner.
A pickup truck driven by 70-year-old Patricia Allford was eastbound and tried to pass a semi. Allford’s truck slammed into Kissack’s van head-on. The semi driver wasn’t injured.

Others, including a passenger in Kissack’s van, were air-lifted.

Allford was issued a citation for improper lane usage.
