Watseka Police report the arrest of a 64-year-old local man for the aggravated battery of a child.  64-year-old Allan Thompson is jailed on a $100,000 bond.  His arrest Tuesday came after a week-long investigation by police, the Department of Children & Family Services and the Iroquois County State's Attorney's Office.

Watseka police were called to a residence last week (May 4) after receiving a report of an injured 10-month-old child. They learned the child had sustained substantial injuries and was transported to a hospital.  The DCFS investigated. The State's Attorney's office issued an arrest warrant.
