Voters in Watseka will choose between three candidates for mayor next April. Incumbent Mayor John Allhands is being challenged by alderman Mark Garfield and former alderman Bill Nutter. A December 30 lottery will determine ballot position. The filing period for candidates in the April Consolidated Election ended Monday, December 21.

Two city wards will also offer voters a choice for City Council seats. In Ward 3, current alderman Dave Mayotte will have a challenger in Jenny Musk. Veteran Ward 4 alder-woman Monna Ullfers will be contested by Terika Weiner.

No Contests in Martinton ---

Village President John Dutour has filed for re-election in the Village of Martinton.

Village trustee candidates filing include: Dawn Brault, Chad Nestlerod, and Cory Butler for 4-year terms. Gary Henneike is a 2-year candidate.
