Watseka Mayor John Allhands and four aldermen/women took their oaths of office Tuesday night.  Following up on the April 6 election, the swearing-in event put the new fiscal year in full motion.  Road improvements were discussed.  A list of priority projects will be reviewed.  Committee assignments and pay raises were approved. 

The City Council also approved the new Fire Chief.  Kenny Baier  begins his term July 1.  He succeeds Tim Ketchum, who announced his retirement at the end of June.

Joining Allhands during swearing-in were 1st Ward Alderman Brandon Barragree, 2nd Ward Alderman Dennis Cahoe, 4th Ward Alderwoman Monna Ullfers and newly-elected 3rd Ward Alderwoman Jenny Musk.  

City Attorney Joe Cainkar did the swearing-in... City Clerk Amanda Hibbs and City Treasurer Marcia Craft were also among those elected.
