Watseka City Police alert the public that the use of golf carts and off-road vehicles on city routes requires compliance with city ordinance. 

As the spring-like weather settles in, the use of golf carts, gators and other off-road vehicles  are appearing on roadways. Police advise citizens there is a city ordinance on the books regarding operation of such vehicles on local routes. 

There is a $25 permit fee.  Vehicles must meet minimum specifications, be inspected by the police department, be insured, and must be registered with the city.   The required paperwork and fees may be completed and paid at City Hall.
