Police authorities in Watseka are looking for a man allegedly involved in the assault of a woman Wednesday morning. Officers responded to a call about a woman being assaulted in the 300-block of E. Ash Street around 10:45 am. Police arrived to learn a male subject had approached the woman demanding money. The woman responded that she didn't have any money. The alleged assailant then pulled out a sharp object, cutting the woman's arm. Police report the suspect then fled on foot to the northeast toward Hickory and 6th Street.
The suspect is described as being 5'9" either White or Hispanic. He was wearing a black zip-up jackey and blue sweat pants.
Police ask citizens living in the Oak Street and Elm Streets area to check their exterior cameras. Info can be passed along to Watseka Police.
