The Illinois Department of Human Services has announced the closing of its public aid office in Watseka. The February 2^nd closing date will force people in need of help to travel to Kankakee for services.

The DHS records show the move will affect an average of 800 clients a month and five state employees who operate the DHS Family Community Resource Center for Iroquois County, which is located on E. Walnut Street.

The action is another cost-cutting move by the state of Illinois to streamline services.
