Watseka ready for 2019 Harvest Daze at Old Courthouse

The Iroquois County Historical Society (ICHS) is prepping for the 40th annual Harvest Daze event in Watseka. The popular fundraiser benefits the Old Courthouse Museum. Volunteers are always welcome and all the vendors, menus, entertainment and special activities are being lined up for this year's event October 4-6.

This is its largest fundraiser of the year. It offers just about something for everyone of all age groups.The event takes place on the grounds of the Old Courthouse Museum, 103 W. Cherry Street in Watseka. Proceeds will help the ICHS with its upkeep, maintenance, repair and improvement of the century-old building. Opening ceremonies are set for 9 am Saturday. Activities and other events continue thru Sunday on the grounds.

Harvest Daze will kick off with its Woodworth-style fish fry from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

An opening ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, with the presentation of colors by the American Legion and VFW, along with the singing of the national anthem.

The community shows support for the annual Harvest Daze and publicity material ia available throughout the county.
