Watseka’s Carolyn DeLahr recognized for years of service

The City of Watseka's retired Treasurer, Carolyn DeLahr, received a well-deserved pat on the back this week.  Mayor John Allhands presented a plaque to Mrs. DeLahr to recognize her 21 years of dedicated service.  She did not seek re-election in April.

A reception before Tuesday's city council committee meetings included family members.  The plaque read, "The City of Watseka wishes to acknowledge Carolyn DeLahr, city treasurer, for her faithful and appreciated service to the City of Watseka. The city extends its best wishes for her retirement and many thanks for a job well done. May, 2021.”

First appointed to the Treasurer's job in 2000, she won election the following year and held the position until her recent retirement.  She plans to remain active with community events, including the Iroquois County Historical Society and handling business affairs for the Watseka Depot.
