Former Watseka fire chief Dave Mayotte was seated (Tuesday) as a 3rd Ward alderman. He fills a vacancy left by the resignation of former finance chairman Rick Elliott.

Elliott cited personal reasons for his resignation last month.

Mayotte was seated after taking his oath. Committee assignments were not mentioned.

Alderman Brandon Barragree was also nominated and accepted the position as Finance chairman. He succeeds the duties of former alderman Rob Hoffman, who also resigned last week.

Hoffman’s vacated aldermanic seat in Ward 4 is yet to be filled.
