A Watseka woman died from injuries Friday night in a head-on collision in Iroquois County. Illinois State Police reported the accident happened just before 7:30 on Route 1 at County Road 1350 N.

55-year-old Suzette Chamness was northbound when her car crossed the center line colliding with a southbound pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old male from Cissna Park.

The 17-year-old for minor injuries at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.

Chamness was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, according to Coroner Bill Cheatum.

The accident remains under investigation.
