Watseka woman sentenced for meth conviction

In Iroquois County Circuit Court -- 32-year-old Kristin Kirby of Watseka was sentenced to four years in prison after her guilty plea to Possession of Methamphetamine - with intent to deliver.  Judge Michael Sabol handed down the sentence (January 16). Watseka Police investigated the case after it was determined Kirby made the sale to a third party.  The investigation also led to a search warrant at Kirby's home where additional controlled substances, including meth, were discovered with evidence that she intended to sell the substances.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Mansberger.

Burgin was among four defendants facing meth charges from early 2025 in a controlled-buy case at a Gibson City park.  A co-defendant, 58-year-old Angela Rutledge of Roberts, also pleased guilty.  She received an 11-year-old prison term last month.
