The local job market, alleviating storm water back-up, finding a balance between downtown business and the eastside development are all issues that presented questions for Watseka’s mayoral and Ward 1 aldermanic candidates at a form last night.
Fifty-five people attended the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event at celebrations to hear Mayor Bob Harwood and John Burch answer questions.
Incumbent alderman Marvin Purvis and challenger Mark Garfield also addressed the audience. They answered questions about ways to improve Watseka’s image and attracting better-paying job opportunities.
Bob Harwood likes what’s happened in first four years as mayor.
John Burch hi-lited some reasons he believes the city needs new direction.
Marvin Purvis and Mark Garfield talked about issues that affect Ward 1.
