Area veterans are getting a huge pat-on-the-back, heartwarming recognition through the “We Honor Veterans” program at Iroquois Memorial Hospital. The program is a special one – for retired veterans in the hospice program.
Air Force Cap’t Aaron Hattabaugh is one of four visiting volunteers finding patriotic time to provide just a little comfort to hospice-veterans, and their caregivers. Any veteran is welcome to get involved.
The IMH Hospice program is a reach-out effort; ‘We Honor Veterans’ pulls in the veteran and family members. Hospice also offers assistance in coordinating military rites conducted by the American Legion.
Veterans and their families can reach out to IMH to learn more about the program. And veterans interested in getting involved can contact IMH.
