...Accumulating snow likely very late tonight into Thursday morning...
Latest forecast guidance suggests that a fast moving upper level disturbance will result in a period of snow developing very late tonight into Thursday morning. The best chance of snow appears to be along and south of Interstate 80...however some snow is possible farther north. Present indications are that the accumulations will be rather light...generally around inch or so...however the recent cold air has resulted in pavement temperatures well below freezing. Any snow that falls will accumulate on untreated roadways and lead to roadways turning very slippery and travel hazardous. In addition...temperatures will fall into the teens Thursday...which could result in salt used to treat roadways growing less effective with time tomorrow.
Persons planning travel Thursday morning should plan to leave extra time to get to their destination.
