The National Weather Service advises to brace for a return of the hot, humid conditions this week. Temps are expected to reach 88 today (Monday) and then 90 with a heat index of 102 on Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely.
Health officials also advise people to avoid long stays in the hot weather, drink plenty of water and check on senior citizens and those that may not have air-conditioning. Make sure pets have plenty of water and don't leave pets outside in the extreme heat. And it's law not to leave children or pets in hot vehicles.
