Weather Spotters Training Scheduled, Vermilion, Iroquois, Kankakee Counties

As the spring tornado season approaches, the National Weather Service has scheduled area training classes in Iroquois, Kankakee and Vermilion counties.  The classes are coordinated with the respective emergenmcy management offices.

Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency officials invite the public to its weather spotters training Wednesday, February 29.  The 6:30 pm program is at the EMA Building at 2507 Georgetown Road.

Iroquois County ESDA is teaming with the Amateur Radio Club offering its 2012 weather  spotters training on Tuesday, March 13 at the Crescent City Grade School Gym.  The program features video and training from a meteorologist from the NWS.  The program is at 6:30 pm. 

The programs are free to the public.  Registration is not required.

The same training is offered by Kankakee County ESDA on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Kankakee Community College beginning at 7 pm.   ESDA, KCC and the Kankakee Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES).  The program is in the KCC Auditorium.
