Weekend altercations, arrests in Watseka and Hoopeston

A Watseka woman and a juvenile face charges after City Police responded to a fight in progress Friday afternoon.  Two females were threatening occupants at a residence in the 500-block of N. 5th Street just before 1:30 pm.  The occupants said the two suspects had a knife and machete and were throwing rocks at the victims.  The females had fled before police arrived but were tracked down by officers.  32-year-old Nicole Peddycord-Blaylock of Watseka was arrested for aggravated assault and battery.  A 14-year-old juvenile was released to Probation Officers.

In Hoopeston...police responded to a disturbance involving three subjects on E. Seminary Avenue.  One of the subjects was armed with what appeared to be a handgun.  39-year-old Anthony Chandler of Hoopeston was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault, theft and possession of Meth.  Chandler was taken to the Public Safety Building at Danville.
