This is the 50th year for the popular event, sponsored by the Iroquois County Historical Society (ICHS).

Sunday is the first Sunday of the month. Museum staff is allowing the decorating of trees Sunday, too, from 1-4 pm.

This year’s Christmas Tree Lane theme is “Taste of Christmas.” But anyone who wants to use the Illinois Bicentennial as its theme, that is acceptable too.

Decorating is open to all groups, organizations, families and businesses. To make sure there is a tree available for your group, organization or business, call 815-432-2215 during the regular business hours of 10 am to 4 pm., Monday through Friday. Reservations can also be made by mailing your request to the ICHS at 103 W. Cherry Street, Watseka.

Trees need to be decorated on or before 4 p.m. Friday, November 30.

Voting of trees is done by museum visitors. A panel of judges are arranged to vote on the trees in the following categories: Best Use of Theme, Most Original, Best Decorated and Best Hand-Crafted Decorations.
