A Friday afternoon crash in White County, Indiana killed 57-year-old Martha Leitzow of Monon.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of U.S. 24 and County Road 300 East for a two-vehicle crash around 4 pm. The crash happened at the location of a flashing light between the city of Monticello and the town of Reynolds.

The victim was southbound on County Road 300 attempting to turn left onto U.S. 24. Leitzow collided with a westbound truck.

The White County Sheriff's Office said Leitzow had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead. Deputies said Leitzow's son was also injured. He was treated and released . The pickup truck driver was not injured.
