A three-vehicle crash involving a garbage truck near Peotone killed two people and injured four others. Illinois State Police troopers responded to a crash on U.S. Route 45, south of Offner Road, just before 11:30 Thursday morning.

The crash involved a garbage truck and two passenger vehicles, police said. ISP reported the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were declared dead at the scene.

Four occupants in the second vehicle were taken to a hospital for treatment They included the 56-year-old female driver from Bourbonnais, a 40-year-old male from Bradley, a 32-year-old female from Bourbonnais and a juvenile male passenger.

The Will County Coroner's Office had not released the identities.
