Three counts of first-degree murder have been filed against a 32-year-old Coal City man in connection with the death of Mokena bartender Kaitlyn Kearns. Bond is set at $10-million for Jeremy Boshears.
He was charged Friday with Concealing a Homicidal Death in Kankakee County, where the body of Kearns was found in her Jeep. Boshears’ bond was set at $250,000. The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office took custody of Boshears and he was transferred to the Kankakee County Detention Center where he remained awaiting transfer back to Joliet.
Those charge against Boshears was secured after Sheriff’s detectives located Kaitlyn’s body in her Jeep Grand Cherokee, parked inside a barn in Aroma Park Township near St. Anne.
The three counts of first-degree murder, filed Friday night, allege that Boshears shot Kaitlyn Kearns in the head with a firearm last Monday (November 13). A Will County Judge signed an arrest warrant that included the $10 million bond.
Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe has agreed it is appropriate to prosecute all charges in Will County.
