A traffic accident blamed on a snow-covered roadway claimed the lives of two young people near Manhattan. State Police report a car slid out of control Saturday afternoon on Route 52 in Will County. The car slid into the path of a pickup truck

Police report all involved were from Joliet. The 20-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger were killed. A 19-year-old passenger is hospitalized in critical condition. Police reported no one in the pickup truck was hurt.
