WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON SATURDAY....

 

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

TIMING...SNOW BEGINNING THIS EVENING AND LASTING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

ACCUMULATION...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 8 INCHES BY LATE SATURDAY MORNING.

SNOWFALL RATES UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR AT TIMES,ESPECIALLY THIS EVENING.

MAIN IMPACT...REDUCED VISIBILITY IN SNOW ALONG WITH ROADS BECOMING SNOW COVERED,MAKING TRAVEL SLOW AND DIFFICULT.

OTHER IMPACTS...THE SNOW WILL BE WET,MAKING IT HEAVY AND HARD TO SHOVEL. THEREFORE USE EXTRA CAUTION WHILE SHOVELING.
