Winter Weather Advisory continues for local area

It's been a mild winter so far for Illinois, but now, a winter storm is bringing things back to reality. The weather system moving through the state Tuesday night brought wet, heavy snow to most parts of the state. Iroquois and Ford County and parts of Vermilion were in line to get several inches. Central Illinois is expected to receive the highest snow totals when it tapers off later today (Wed) , with some areas getting up to 6 inches. Another weather system is expected to affect Illinois this weekend.

Motorists are advised to slow it down, be aware of changing road conditions, and have an emergency kit in your vehicle.  IDOT also asks drivers to allow extra room for snow plows to do their jobs.  Also snow ordinances in many communities require vehicles to be moved from roads for plows to clear.
