A traffic stop in Watseka led to a chase and a manhunt. Now, a man is in custody facing federal weapons charges.
Watseka Police made a stop Wednesday night. But the driver fled armed with an A-R 15 rifle.
Christopher Hamlin of Watertown, WI wasn’t apprehended during the 7:30 pm traffic stop. Instead, there was an approximate 17-hour manhunt for Hamlin. He was taken into custody around noon (Thursday) after he was spotted in a residential area. He was chased by police into a wooded area where he was captured.
Hamlin was wanted on a federal warrant for weapon offenses. He was being held for federal authorities in Watseka.
