Woman charged with 2nd- degree murder in stabbing death

Champaign County authorities have arrested a Seymour (IL) woman in connection with the fatal stabbing last week of her boyfriend.

25-year-old Sarah Kijanowski faces second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for the stabbing death of 27-year-old Chase Yets. She faces arraignnment today.

Assistant State's Attorney Steve Ziegler said evidence shows they had been egaged in an argument and he allegedy pushed her and she took hold of a knife. He came toward her and she apparently stabbed him in the chest. " Ziegler said Mr. Yets was stabbed only once.

The stabbing occurred at the Seymour house that Kijanowski shared with Mr. Yets and her three daughters, one of whom is Mr. Yets' child.

A judge set bond at $250,000 for Kijanowski.
