Former Iroquois West football standout Clayton Leonard announced he is entering the transfer portal and leaving the Illinois football program. He has spent the last four years there with time as an offensive lineman, linebacker, and tight end. Here is his announcement on social media:

"First off, I would like to thank Coach B and Coach Miller for bringing me to the University of Illinois. I would also like to thank Coach Discher, Coach Panos, and Coach Trent for helping me grow as a man and as an athlete over these past 4 years. With that being said, I plan to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with 1 year of eligibility remaining. I am also exploring graduate assistant or assistant coaching options as well."
