Kankakee County: Theo Chester guilty of murder

Theo Chester of Kankakee is facing up to 20 years in prison after a jury (Friday) found him guilty of second-degree murder.  Chester was found responsible for the stabbing death of his brother, George Chester, in August of 2018. Testiomy revealed the victim died of a stab wound to the heart.  It happeneed at his home in Kankakee.

Kankakee County State's Attorney Jim Rowe said "I appreciate the jury's service but there are no winners in a case like this.  George Chester was stabbed to death and his brother, Theo, now has to live his life knowing he murdered his own brother," Rowe said.  "Our prayers remain with the family that they, some how, work through this tragedy."

The jury deliberated for about 2.5 hours before returning the verdict.  A sentencing date will be determinned.
