Illinois 17 bridge replacement underway ... 

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces construction is underway on the bridge carrying Illinois 17 over the west branch of Horse Creek in Kankakee County. The bridge is located just north of Union Hill.  Work will replace the bridge. One lane of traffic will be maintained across the bridge and will be controlled by temporary signals. The $1.9 million project is scheduled to be completed in November.
