Hometown Hero banners are now on display throughout downtown Watseka. And this afternoon, the community is invited to a “Hometown Hero Banner Celebration.”
The 5 pm event is at the newly-named Ted Horner Community Park on Walnut Street. Thirty-eight banners proudly display military heroes who have served the United States.
Amanda Hibbs, Executive Director of the Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce, is most proud of the endeavor and is already looking to expand the program
The banners were sold to those families wanting to honor their loved ones, who’ve served or are serving in any branch of the military. Those family members and the community are all invited to this afternoon’s ‘special’ event.
