Illinois driver’s licenses and IDs officially enter the digital realm this week.
Capitol News Illinois reports that residents can add their license or ID to their digital wallets on their cellphones starting Wednesday (tomorrow).
That means they will be able to show their ID on their device instead of digging for their wallet at a bar or an airport checkpoint — though they’ll still need to carry their physical card.
The feature launches first for Apple users, with Google and Samsung coming soon, officials said.
