Hoopeston meth dealer sentenced to 11 years in prison

The Vermilion County State's Attorney's Office  reports a 51-year-old Hoopeston man will be spending the next 11 years behind bars after pleading guilty to dealing meth.  Chad Baker pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.  Judge Karen Wall sentenced  Baker to 11 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  He'll also have to serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release following his time in prison.

The case records show Baker fled on foot from a traffic stop conducted by Hoopeston Police January 23. 2025.  He was taken into custody and found with an estimated 50 grams of a substance that tested positive for meth, along with $300 cash and a list of names and a delivery schedule.
