Town Marshal, Marquess, Leads a Two-Month Investigation
The Boswell Police Department, with assistance from officers of Benton County Sheriff’s Department and Fowler Police Department, successfully apprehended 40-year-old Curtis Butler for the alleged abuse of a disabled adult. Butler was arrested today (Monday 7/21) after a warrant was issued for the arrest.
Butler was taken into custody after a case that began with reports of suspected criminal restraint of a dependent adult. The investigation by the Boswell Town Marshal Michael Marquess, which lasted nearly two months, was initiated after reports raised concerns about possible abuse and neglect.
The Benton County Prosecutor’s Office filed for the arrest warrant. Butler is currently being held at the Benton County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond for the criminal offenses of Battery to a disabled person, criminal confinement, and neglect of a dependent – all felony charges.
