Rain brings flooding along Iroquois River

Over five-inches of rain in Indiana has prompted the NWS to issue flooding warnings for communities impacted by the Iroquois River. Rainfall amounts of 4-6 inches in the last 24 hours in Benton and Newton Counties has roads under water. Motorists are warned to avoid flooded routes and seek an alternate road.

The NWS reports up to another inch of rain could fall yet before tapering off late this morning.

A Flood Warning is in effect for Northern Benton, southern Jasper, southern Newton and southeastern Iroquois counties.
