61-year-old Mike Rudisill of Sheldon was stopped by Watseka Police for an expired vehicle registration, then a box of shotgun ammunition was observed on the vehicle's floorboard. Rudisill admitted he didn't have a FOID card. A search of the vehicle revealed two bags of suspected rock-like substances. Officers charged Rudisill with Possession of Meth and Possession of Ammo without a FOID card.
Watseka Police investigated reports of a masked-suspect, apparently trying to gain access to a house Wednesday. Police were dispatched to the 400-block of E. Hickory Street when the suspect was tryng to open a door to a residence. When callers to police yelled at the suspect, the person fled. Police were unable to identify the suspect who was observed wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a black ski mask.
Indiana State Police conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation on State Road 26 near Interstate 65 Wednesday. The driver was identified as 33-year-old Mahlon Justice of West Lafayette. During the course of the stop, a Trooper observed indicators of possible criminal activity. He requested the assistance of a Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department K-9, which gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, hypodermic syringes, and a firearm. The stop also led the trooper to believe that Justice was operating the vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Justice was taken into custody and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
