Paris, IL — Prospect Bank is proud to announce a strategic leadership transition that reflects its continued commitment to growth, community, and operational excellence. Eric Volkmann has assumed the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Effective January 1, 2026, Jenelle Adams will be appointed as the new President.

Volkmann served as the President of Prospect Bank for 22 years. During his tenure, the company grew from a bank located in one county with $140 million in assets, to one that serves six counties with more than 100 employees. In his new role, Volkmann will transition his focus to high-level strategic initiatives, including industry and market monitoring, acquisitions, risk management, operational efficiency, and the overall health and well-being of Prospect Bank. This leadership evolution strengthens the company's foundation as it continues to expand its influence and accelerate innovation.

The company’s new president, Jenelle Adams, has more than 15 years of experience at Prospect Bank. Her leadership was instrumental in growing the bank’s total assets from $250 million to $750 million. She also led key operational initiatives, such as the successful rebranding of Prospect Bank and the development of a strong, values-driven workplace culture.

As President, Adams plans to streamline decision making by focusing on meaningful data trends and fostering growth within Prospect Bank’s team to achieve the bank’s strategic goal of reaching the $1 billion asset milestone.

The Prospect Bank Board of Directors unanimously supported Adam’s appointment as President.

“Looking at our executive leadership team, we wanted an individual who understands the external control environment, policies and procedures, and internal operations of the Bank,” said Steve Blair, Chairman of the Governance Committee. “Jenelle was the clear and logical choice.”

Volkmann also voiced support for Adam’s appointment.  “Jenelle leads with purpose and authenticity,” said Eric Volkmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

“She listens, inspires, and cultivates a culture of excellence and accountability. Employees trust her. As the Bank navigates complex regulatory and market environments, she articulates confidence and brings a deep understanding of what it takes to unify a diverse team around shared goals.”
