A truck vs train collision in Iroquois County Monday morning took the life of an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) employee. Illinois State Police and the Canadian National Railroad authorities investigated the crash a little before 8:30 am north of Danforth.  State Police confirmed an IDOT snowplow operator was pronounced dead at a Kankakee hospital. 
Emergency responders answered the call to a truck-train accident at County Road 2300 N, west of U-S Route 45. The location is between Danforth and Ashkum.  Danforth and Ashkum Fire were at the scene.
