A water trickle can prevent freezing pipes
Warming centers will be available for those citizens needing to escape from the extreme cold weather. Ford and Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials remind the public that community warming centers will be opened for those who need relief from the temperature readings. Several communities have agencies making shelters available.

Before heading to a warming center, it's recommended you call ahead to confirm availablity.
Iroquois County warming centers are in Ashkum, Chebanse, Gilman, Martinton, Milford and Watseka. Ford County locations include Gibson City, Melvin, Piper City, Kempton, and Paxton.
